WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative John Culberson (TX-07), Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science (CJS), released a statement following President Trump’s decision to remove the United States from the Iran Nuclear Deal.

“I’m pleased that the President has ended this dangerous agreement with the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, Iran. The Iran Nuclear Deal does nothing to prevent the financing of their global terror network or their aggressive ballistic missile development program. Instead, it has allowed Iran to self-inspect, self-report and keep their nuclear infrastructure in place while receiving billions in sanctions relief. These actions, left unchecked, represent a direct threat to the United States and our allies.

“This was a bad deal from the start, and I’m heartened that this misguided agreement has come to an end.”
