Congressman Culberson: “It is my distinct pleasure to be a sponsor of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition for high school student artists in the Seventh District. Each year, I’m amazed at the talent in my district. This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to be recognized for their creative gifts, and I encourage anyone that is interested to submit their work of art.” Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent. Students from each congressional district in America submit their work to their Representative’s office. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students residing in the Seventh Congressional District. The winner from TX-07 will receive two complimentary airline tickets to Washington, D.C. to view the exhibit and will also be invited to a special awards ceremony for all the winners across the country. The winning piece will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for a full year. Artwork can be delivered to Rep. Culberson’s Houston office by April 30, 2018. Please call the Houston office at (713) 682-8828 or email Brooke Bacuetes at Brooke.Bacuetes@mail.house.gov beforehand to coordinate drop-off. If you are not able to drop off the artwork at the district office, please contact the office and a staff member will arrange to have it picked up. Background
