Washington D.C. – Rep. John Culberson (TX-07) released the following statement today after the House passed H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act:
“Because of today’s historic vote, hardworking Texans and American families will see an increase in their take home pay in January. American companies will immediately be more competitive in the world market, and thousands of jobs and billions of dollars will return to the United States. This is a pivotal moment in the economic history of our country and I am proud to vote in favor of lower taxes, greater prosperity and job growth.
“Small businesses on Main Street and larger companies that want to come back to the U.S. and compete in the world market will flourish because of this tax cut.
“Hurricane Harvey survivors can also rest assured knowing that their tax breaks will be preserved. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to support this legislation and move it to President Donald Trump’s desk to be signed into law.”
