Culberson Receives Champion for Aerospace and Science Award
Representative John Culberson (TX-07) received the inaugural Champion for Aerospace and Science award from the Coalition for Aerospace and Science (CAS) last week.
“It is an honor to receive the first Champion for Aerospace and Science award,” said Rep. Culberson. “The work this coalition has done to support the vision and mission of NASA is truly remarkable, and I’m encouraged by their passion for space exploration. NASA is a national treasure, and my job as the Commerce, Justice and Science Subcommittee Chairman is to ensure that we return NASA to the glory days of Apollo. American leadership in space deserves to be unbridled, and I’m proud to support NASA in their research and exploration efforts.”
“Chairman Culberson is not only a strong supporter of NASA, he is also recognized by his colleagues, and those of us in the space community, as a supporter with vision and a depth of expertise that is rarely seen in a non-scientist,” said Frank Slazer, Vice Principal Space Systems, AIA and Co-Chair of the Coalition for Aerospace and Science. “When the Coalition for Aerospace and Science was deciding which Member of Congress we should honor with our first “Champion of Aerospace and Science” award, it was no contest – Chairman John Culberson was our unanimous choice.”
