Representative John Culberson (TX-07) released the following statement after the House passed a budget resolution allowing for the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act.

“Today, the House took the first steps forward in repealing and replacing the disastrous Affordable Care Act. Passing this resolution is a real victory towards creating a patient-centered health care system that gives Americans the care they deserve.

“As a result of Obamacare, many Americans have lost their existing health insurance policies, have seen their costs rise, and have waited longer to see their primary care physician. Insurers have been leaving health insurance markets across the country, which has left Americans paying more for fewer options. The American people deserve better.

“The country has suffered enough under Obamacare, and Republicans are working hard to provide a smooth transition towards quality patient care and affordable coverage.”
