Rep. Culberson Receives National Shooting Sports Foundation’s 2015 Legislator of the Year Award
Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) attended the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) annual dinner to receive the 2015 Legislator of the Year Award for his work to protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.
As Chairman of the Commerce, Justice, Science Subcommittee on Appropriations, Rep. Culberson has oversight over the funding for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Agency (ATF). Rep. Culberson was honored with the award for being an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment and preventing the ATF’s ban on popular “green tip” hunting ammunition. This popular ammunition is widely used by law-abiding Americans for target shooting and hunting.
“I’m honored and deeply moved to receive this prestigious award from an organization that I admire so much and for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Protecting our liberties and our right to keep and bear arms are among my highest priorities as chairman of this committee. I’m very grateful to the NSSF for this award in recognition of my successful work to overturn the Obama Administration’s proposed ammo ban and my ongoing work to protect our Second Amendment rights. ”
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, and hunting sports industry.
Congressman John Culberson represents the Seventh District of Texas.
