Washington, DC – The National Association of Community Health Centers recently awarded Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) with its highest award – the 2012 Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award for his work in support of improved access to cost-effective and affordable health care at Health Centers in underserved communities nationwide.

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) was organized in 1971 to address the needs of the more than 8,000 community health centers located throughout all 50 states and U.S. territories. NACHC works with a network of state health centers and primary care organizations to serve health centers in a variety of ways. NACHC helps provide research-based advocacy for health centers and their clients, educates the public about the value of health centers, trains and provides technical assistance to health center staff, and develops alliances with private partners and key stakeholders to foster the delivery of primary health care services to communities in need.
