WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Rep. John Culberson (TX-7) was presented with the “ACU Conservative” Award by the American Conservative Union. The award is given to Members of Congress who demonstrate the conservative principles of limited government, traditional values, and strong national defense.
For 2012, Rep. Culberson received a rating of 92.00%, in the top tier of House Republicans and nearly ten points higher than the Republican average of 83.94%. Culberson’s lifetime score is 96.05%.
Founded in 1964, the ACU is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. Since 1971, when its ratings program began, the ACU has been the “go-to source for determining whether an elected official’s philosophical rhetoric matches his record,” according to its chairman, Al Cardenas.
